Production from the giant field now is 658 mcm/d -- up 7% compared to last October.
So far $14 million have been spent on building the wastewater network in Bushehr, capital city of Bushehr Province and the project has made 80% progress, managing director of Bushehr Water and Wastewater Company said.
“Close to 500 kilometers of pipelines have been laid in the provincial capital,” Tasnim News Agency quoted Abdolhamid Hamzehpour as saying.
The wastewater plant operating in the city now recycles more than 38,000 cubic meters of sewage a day. With the completion of the sewage network, the plant will recycle over 50,000 cubic meters a day, he added.
In addition to Bushehr, the majority of population in Deylam and Ganaveh counties will also benefit from the sewage network.
The Statistical Center of Iran has released a report reviewing price changes experienced by food products during the 10th month of the current Iranian year (Dec. 22, 2019-Jan. 20).
The report shows that the biggest month-on-month price rise for a food item was recorded for onions with 24.4%. A kilogram of onions was sold at 49,638 rials (37 cents).
The second and third biggest month-on-month price increases during the period under review were registered for bananas with 9.4% and lentils with 3.4%, SCI reported on its website.
Iran's apparent steel usage—defined as production plus imports minus exports, sometimes also adjusted for changes in inventories—during the eight months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Nov. 21) stood at 13.05 million tons for semi-finished products, registering a 2% decline compared with last year's corresponding period.

The government will no longer allocate subsidized foreign currency for sugar import, as per the letter forwarded to the Central Bank of Iran by the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade.
Traders are allowed to procure their foreign currency needs for importing sugar from the export earnings of non-oil products (petrochemicals, steels and minerals) traded through the so-called secondary FX market, known by its Persian name Nima.
Sugar is the fifth item after red meat, butter, pulses and tea that have been removed from the category of products labeled as essential goods (or Group I products) and included in Group II.
The private sector has signed investment contracts worth 54,982 billion rials ($407 million) with Ports and Maritime Organization of Iran for the development of Iranian ports during the 10 months to Jan. 20, according to a PMO official.

Tehran’s Traffic Police announced that the Air Pollution Control scheme, currently underway in the capital, will most probably undergo some modifications in the new Iranian year (starting March 20, 2020).
After prolonged debates over the advantages and disadvantages of APC, the traffic police held meetings with urban experts and authorities to remove its deficiencies and recommend modifications to the scheme for the next fiscal year, ISNA reported.
Tehran Police Chief Hossein Rahimi added that the modifications will be implemented after Tehran Municipality approves and finalizes the recommendations.
