Two solar power plants in Rey and Damavand counties of Tehran Province were inaugurated Tuesday.

The two renewable plants will generate more than 34 gigawatts of electricity per year. If the same amount of power was to be produced in a thermal power plant, over 12 million cubic meters of gas and 9,000 cubic meters of water would be consumed per annum.
The solar plants will prevent the emission of 29,000 tons of environmental pollutants (carbon dioxide).

Built over 11 hectares, the plant will help improve the quality of tap water for at least 2 million people.
“Piped water in Tehran’s downtown districts, namely Shoush, Khavaran, Baqerabad, Khavarshahr, Varamin, Pakdasht, Qiamdasht, Naziabad, Afsariyeh and Yaftabad was mixed with underground water. But now they will be supplied with surface water (from dams) that has better quality.”
East Azarbaijan’s small- and medium-sized industrial units and export consortiums exported about €94 million worth of commodities during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2019-Jan. 20, 2020).

Iranian steelmakers produced 34.8 million tons of semis and finished steel products during the first nine months of the current Iranian year (March 21-Dec. 21) to register a 5.98% year-on-year increase.
According to the Iranian Steel Producers Association's latest report, semi-finished steel made up 19.64 million tons of the total output, up 5% YOY.
Billet and bloom made up 11.6 million tons of semi-finished production while slab output hit 8.04 million tons to register an 11% rise and 2% decline respectively YOY.

According to Siavash Malekifar, an INIF deputy, since October 2018, the state-backed institution has offered loans and grants to the tune of 520 billion rials ($1.8 million) to emerging startups, IRNA reported.
However, INIF is planning to make the investments more systematic and become a venture capital fund for backing startups.
Malekifar noted that startups managers are to be engaged in the process.
