The pound strengthened for the first time in four days against the dollar as Bank of England policy maker Kristin Forbes said an improving global economy may trigger interest-rate increases sooner than investors expect, Bloomberg said. The pound rose 0.2% to $1.5013 at 12:06 pm in London. It weakened to $1.4952 on Jan. 23, the least since July 2013.
