Thailand’s manufacturing production index continued to slide in November as a result of lower production in various key sectors, the government’s monthly report showed Monday. The MPI, which measures the volume of production in the country’s manufacturing sector, fell 3.5% in November from a year earlier, the Industry Ministry’s Office of Industrial Economics said, MarketWatch reported. The fall in November was larger than the 3.0% year-over-year decline in October. The ministry reported that local vehicle production dropped 13.55% from a year earlier, while exports fell 11.03% year-over-year in November. Electronics production also slid 4.04% from a year earlier. Thailand’s capacity utilization, a gauge on how fully used factories are, also slipped to 59.8% in November from 60.6% in October.
