Scotland Property Prices Keep Rising

Property prices in Scotland have continued to rise year-on-year, according to the latest monthly UK House Price Index. It showed the average price of a property in Scotland in October was £143,544 ($191,663)–up 2.8% on October 2016, SNA reported. However, the figure decreased when compared with the previous month, this time by 0.7%. Janet Egdell, of the Registers of Scotland, said: “Average prices have been steadily increasing each month since March 2016, when compared with the same month of the previous year. Residential sales volumes increased in August. The annual increase of 7.4% when compared with August 2016 in Scotland compares to decreases across the rest of the UK. The cumulative volume of sales for Scotland for the financial year to date–from April to August 2017–was 45,341. This is an increase of 11.3% on the equivalent year-to-date position for August 2016.” The volume of residential sales in Scotland in August 2017 was 9,282–an increase of 7.4% on August 2016’s figure and 5.3% on the previous month.
