Spain Sees 0.8% Growth in Q3

The Spanish economy grew by 0.8% in the third quarter of this year, compared to the previous quarter, according to data published on Thursday by Spain’s Statistical Office, INE, Xinhua reported. INE figures showed that household consumption rose by 0.7%, public expenditure increased by 0.4% and investment rose by 1.3% on a quarterly basis. On a year-on-year basis, the economy grew by 3.1%, the INE said, highlighting that employment rose by 2.9%. Investment grew by 5.4% year on year and consumption rose by 2.1%, with households’ consumption rising by 2.4%. Public spending rose by 1%, the INE reported. Exports rose by 4.9% and imports increased by 4%, it said.
