Eurozone Retail Sales Recover

Retail sales across the eurozone recorded a 0.3% rise in the month of September. However, over the year to September, sales volumes were 3.7% higher---the highest annualized rate in two years, RTTNews reported. It marks yet another sign of improving conditions across the currency bloc. The biggest rise in the year was in the sale of non-food products, which registered an increase of just over 5%. Among member states, Romania, Malta and Ireland recorded the highest increases. The increase in sales volumes in Ireland over the year was of the order of 8.2%. Luxembourg showed the biggest fall where sales volumes were over 25% lower in the year.
