Japan Factory Output Up

Japan’s industrial production increased less than initially estimated in August, latest figures from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed on Monday, Business Insider reported. Industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 2% monthly in August instead of a 2.1% climb reported earlier. This was followed by a 0.8% drop in the previous month. Shipments grew 1.8% over the month, in line with the flash data published on September 28. At the same time, inventories fell 0.6%, confirming the preliminary report. On a yearly basis, industrial production growth accelerated to 5.3% in August from 4.7% in July.
