Japan’s industrial production increased less than initially estimated in August, latest figures from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry showed on Monday, Business Insider reported. Industrial production rose a seasonally adjusted 2% monthly in August instead of a 2.1% climb reported earlier. This was followed by a 0.8% drop in the previous month. Shipments grew 1.8% over the month, in line with the flash data published on September 28. At the same time, inventories fell 0.6%, confirming the preliminary report. On a yearly basis, industrial production growth accelerated to 5.3% in August from 4.7% in July.
