The Czech current account balance turned to a deficit in the second quarter from a surplus in the previous quarter, figures from the Czech National Bank showed Wednesday, RTTNews reported. The current account balance came in at a deficit of CZK 7.6 billion ($348.6 million) in the June quarter versus a surplus of CZK 97.6 billion in the March quarter. The goods trade surplus shrank to CZK 74.5 billion in the second quarter from CZK 90.9 billion in the previous three-month period. Meanwhile, the surplus on services trade rose to CZK 30.3 billion from CZK 26.6 billion. The primary income deficit grew notably from CZK 4.99 billion to CZK 97.1 billion. The shortfall in the secondary income increased slightly to CZK 15.4 billion from CZK 15.0 billion. The capital account surplus climbed to CZK 7.7 billion from 1.0 billion. On the other side, the financial account surplus was CZK 27.2 billion against CZK 96.2 billion in the prior quarter.
