Poland’s annual base inflation likely edged down to 0.6-0.7% year on year in August after 0.8% in July, local economists estimate after the publication of detailed consumer price inflation data by Central Statistical Office of Poland, GUS, Warsawvoice reported. Such slight decline in base inflation confirms inflationary pressure still has not appeared in the economy, Credit Agricole economist Jakub Olipra comments. In the coming months, CPI inflation may accelerate slightly, but will decline to 1.5% y/y or below by the end of the year, most economists agree.
