Finland’s consumer confidence improved in August after weakening in the previous month, figures from Statistics Finland showed Monday, RTTNews reported. The consumer sentiment index rose to 23.5 in August from 22.8 in July. In June, the score was 23.9. The survey was conducted among 1,213 households between August 1 and 18. In August, 49% of consumers believed that Finland’s economic situation would improve in the coming twelve months, while 10% of them thought that the country’s economy would deteriorate. Households’ expectations regarding their own financial situation for the next year worsened in August. The corresponding index dropped to 8.4 from 10.5 in the prior month.
