Indonesia’s Central Statistics Agency reports that inflation rate in April was at 0.09% due to adjustment to non-subsidized 900 VA electricity tariff, Antara reported. As such, inflation of the calendar year (January-April 2017) was at 1.28% and year-on-year inflation in April was 4.17%. The inflation was due to price increases in food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco of 0.12%; housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel 0.93%; clothing 0.49%; health 0.08%; education, recreation and sports 0.03%; and transportation, communication and financial services 0.27%. Meanwhile, 1.13% deflation occurred in food ingredients.
