Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said he saw a chance that economic growth would accelerate in the first quarter of 2017 to around 3%, Reuters reported. “There is a chance for growth faster than the 2.7% (seen) in the fourth quarter (of 2016),” he told reporters in the sidelines of an economic conference in Southern Poland. Growth would increase “by around 3%”, he said. Exports grew by 6% last year, while imports increased by 4.9% year-on-year. From January to November 2016, Poland imported a total of 513,500 tons of various products, up 7.1% compared with the same period a year earlier.
