Russia, Vietnam Discuss Ties

Russia’s State Duma (lower house) Speaker Sergey Naryshkin met with General Secretary of the Vietnamese Communist Party Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong on Wednesday to discuss the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries, Itar Tass reported. For the first time in Vietnam “we feel sympathy from the Vietnamese people at every step. I should tell you that Russia feels sincerely and friendly to the Vietnamese people as an old reliable friend”, Naryshkin said. He congratulated Nguyan Phu Tron on the agreements on cooperation in all fields — politics, economy and the military-technical sphere. The agreements were reached during the Vietnamese official’s visit to Russia last week.
