Investor Interest in Mining in Africa Surges

The annual Investing in Africa Mining Indaba, which is taking place from February 6-9 at the Cape Town International Convention Center, is attracting 32% more mining companies and 71% more investors compared to 2016, Fin24 reported. Alex Grose, managing director of Mining Indaba, ascribed the resurgence in interest to an improved perception of mining equities. The Mining Indaba, currently the world’s largest mining investment conference and Africa’s largest mining event, provides a gateway for the capitalization and development of mining interests in Africa. Themed Leveraging the next wave of growth: How can you invest in African mining to make long-term profits?, this year’s conference will focus on ways in which investors, mining companies and African governments can maximize profitability, portfolio returns and sales on the back of a recovery in the mining sector, according to miningreview.com.
