Growth forecasts by various domestic and international institutions indicate the expansion of Slovenia’s economy will speed up in 2017. The GDP growth projections range between 2.3% and 2.9% and are coupled in boom-style fashion with falling unemployment and increased domestic spending. Household and government consumption will continue to be growth drivers as in the previous quarters of this year, the Italian banking group Intesa Sanpaolo said in its December forecast report. The mild recovery in oil prices this year after last year’s slump implies that Slovenia’s inflation is likely to remain around zero in 2016, the lender noted.
