In-house calculations by the International Monetary Fund showed that Japan’s inflation rate, excluding the effects of foreign exchange fluctuations, has hovered around zero in 2014, Asahi Shimbun said. Although the results of the IMF calculations have not been made public, the figures were shown to finance ministers and central bankers at an October meeting of the IMF and the World Bank, it said.
