The dollar was stronger against its rival currencies on Monday, nearing a fresh seven-month high against the euro and a record high against the yuan, as investors continue to bet on higher US short-term rates later this year, MarketWatch reported .The euro was ratcheting lower from earlier in the session to touch $1.086, just above its 7-month low of $1.085 hit on Friday, before slightly regaining ground to $1.087. The WSJ Dollar Index, a measure of the dollar against a basket of major currencies, was up 0.10% at 88.66. The pound was at $1.220 from $1.223 late Friday. Against the yen, the greenback was at ¥103.89 from ¥103.85.
