Brazil’s economy is likely to grow 0.5% this year, according to country’s Planning Ministry, reducing its previous forecast of a 0.9% gross domestic product growth rate, Dow Jones reported. The reduced forecast still sounds optimistic when compared with private-sector expectations. A weekly central-bank survey with about 100 economists said Brazil will grow just 0.2% in 2014, compared with 2.5% last year.
