Nigeria Leader Vows to Revive Economy

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari Saturday promised to revive the nation’s economy, restore the value of the naira and drive hunger from the land, AllAfrica reported. In a national broadcast to mark Nigeria’s 56th independence anniversary in Abuja, the nation’s capital city, the Nigerian leader said he has outlined various development programs that will revive the nation’s economy. The programs include construction and rehabilitation of new roads, housing and power projects across the country. He expressed hope that the housing initiative would reactivate the building materials manufacturing sector, generate massive employment opportunities and develop the sector’s capacity and expertise.
