Czech gross domestic product expanded by 0.9% on a quarterly basis in the second quarter, matching an earlier flash estimate, as strong trade lifted most sectors of the economy, the statistics office said on Friday, Kitco reported. On an annual basis, the economy grew by 2.6%, a slightly faster pace than the flash estimate of 2.5% but slowing from a rate of 3% in the first quarter. Analysts expect the Czech economy to cool this year after a record flow of European Union development funds in 2015 pushed growth to among the fastest in Europe last year.
