Aussie Jobless Rate to Rise

Economists are expecting Australia’s unemployment rate to increase slightly to 5.8% when figures are released on Thursday, ABC reported. If expectations are met, it would be the first increase in unemployment figures this year. The median expectation of economists surveyed by Bloomberg is for an unemployment rate of 5.8% for June, up from 5.7% in May, with about 10,000 jobs created. This result would be a small piece of bad economic news for the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull government, which campaigned on a platform of jobs and growth.
