Armenia Exports Grow by 20%

Armenia’s economic activity index grew by 5.5% in the first five months of 2016 against the same period last year, preliminary data published by the National Statistical Service said Monday, PanArmenian reported. The country’s foreign trade turnover increased by 6.8% in January-May, compared with figures registered in the same period in 2015. Exports and imports soared by 20.1% and 0.9%, respectively. The GDP volume amounted to AMD 898.2 billion ($1.88 billion) against the AMD 881.2 billion in the same period last year. The volume of industrial production in January-April totaled around AMD 421 billion, up by 10% against the same period in 2015.
