Italian companies are interested in developing cooperation with Russia, despite the current economic crisis, moreover, they are interested in participating in Russia’s privatization, Italian Ambassador to Russia Cesare Ragaglini said on Monday, Tass reported. The Italian diplomat took part in a ceremony of launching the production of oil pumps at a Transneft enterprise. “Italian companies have always been demonstrating big interest to Russia and now that we are speaking here they are holding negotiations on investments. They are Italy’s biggest companies,” he said. “It means that Italian businesses are confident in Russia, despite the crisis. I hope that some agreements will be reached in the sphere of privatization as well.” Russian state-owned oil companies Rosneft and Bashneft are ready for privatization, at the same time it is important for the government to not only receive the money from the sale of these assets, but also to ensure the effective management of the companies, a high-ranking official familiar with the situation told Tass.
