The Turkish economy has defied recent geopolitical turmoil and domestic terrorism as it remains firmly on the track of robust growth, with an unexpected output jump at the end of 2015 despite sanctions by Russia, DW reported. Turkey’s gross domestic product grew 4% in 2015, the country’s statistics office reported Thursday, boosted by an unexpectedly strong expansion in the fourth quarter, beating analysts’ expectations. In the last three months of the year alone, the emerging economy logged growth that was 5.7% higher than in the same quarter a year ago, and following 3.9% in the third quarter of 2015.
