Lagarde Reelected

The International Monetary Fund has confirmed Christine Lagarde for a second term at the helm of the Washington-based organization. She did not have to struggle hard as there was no other candidate, DW reported. France’s Christine Lagarde was officially named to a second term at the helm of the IMF on Friday. The new five-year gig will start on July 5. “In taking this decision, the board praised Lagarde’s strong and wise leadership during her first term,” the dean of the fund’s executive board, Aleksei Mozhin, said in a statement.
