The European statistics authority Eurostat has revealed that the rate of unemployment in Greece increased to 25.2% in June, from 25% in May. Meanwhile, the rate of unemployment in the EU and Eurozone remained stable–9.5% and 11% respectively, NewsNow reported. In June there were 1.205 million unemployed, with the joblessness rate being 21.7% among men and 29.5% among women. Youth unemployment dropped from 51.4% in May to 48.3% in June. In total, there were about 23 million unemployed in the European Union and 17.6 million in Eurozone member states, in August. There are no statistics yet for Greece during August.
