Eyeing Takeover

Mexican generic-drug company Representaciones e Investigaciones Medicas SA is attracting takeover interest from Sanofi, Pfizer Inc. and Abbott Laboratories, people with knowledge of the matter said, Bloomberg reported. The Mexico City-based drugmaker, known as Rimsa, also has drawn inquiries fromTeva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and Takeda Pharmaceutical Co., said the people, who asked not to be identified because the information is private. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is managing the sale, in which the company may fetch about $1 billion, the people said. Foreign companies and investors have been pursuing transactions in Mexico’s fragmented generic-drug industry.
