The World Bank has agreed to extend unconditional support for economic development activities in Sri Lankam, Colombo online reported. During meetings with the president, prime minister and finance minister, a World Bank delegation headed by vice president for the South Asia Region, Annette Dixon, has assured that the global lender is committed to partner with the new government in implementing policy reforms. During a meeting with the Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake at the Finance Ministry Dixon has expressed optimism that the forthcoming budget would provide much relief to the people. The World Bank team also expressed optimism that the government would give priority to grant relief to the people through an identified strategy.
