The GKI-Erste economic sentiment index adjusted for seasonal effects remained unchanged in July, reflecting a relatively optimistic mood, as it has been practically unchanged for the seventh consecutive month, a GKI report showed on Monday, Portfolio reported. According to the empirical survey conducted by Hungarian think-tank GKI with the support of the EU, expectations remained unchanged in the business sector (coming to 5 points in July after 5.1 pts in June), whereas they improved slightly among consumers (to -26 pts from -27 pts). The GKI-Erste economic sentiment index came in at -3.1 pts vs. -3.2 pts in June. In July expectations of trade and service companies in the business sector were slightly more optimistic than in June.
