If the latest update of the consumer price index is anything to go by, then it may be correct to say that Nigerians had better brace up for the inevitable increase in the prices of staple foods, NewsNow reported. Last year and up till the end of the first quarter of this year, prices of staple foods were not exactly pocket-friendly. Staple foods like rice, beans, yams, palm oil and vegetable oil, to mention just a few, were adversely affected by the vagaries of demand and supply, thus became literally priced out of the reach for the common man. It is expected that the prices would soar higher in the coming weeks.
