Croatia’s industrial production grew by 2.6% in May, the fastest growth of industrial production in the EU, according to the EU statistics agency Eurostat, BalkanInsight reported. The report said Lithuania came in second place with growth of 1.7% and Portugal came third with 1%. Bulgarian industry fell 0.5% in May, while in Romania it fell by 0.1%. Industrial growth in Ireland fell by 6.9%, in the Netherlands by 5.7% and in Greece by 5.1% in comparison to April. Eurostat reported that industrial production fell by 0.3% in the EU overall. According to the report, Croatia’s industrial production in May was 4.4% higher than in May 2014, the biggest annual improvement since December 2014.
