French industrial production dropped unexpectedly in April, marking a weak start to the second quarter for the eurozone’s second-largest economy, Dow Jones reported. Industrial output in the eurozone’s second largest economy fell 0.9% in April from March, national statistics agency Insee said. Economists polled by the Wall Street Journal had on average forecast a 0.4% rise. Industrial production declined as auto sector output fell 3.3% and coking and refining output slumped nearly 11% in April from March, Insee said.
