Czech unemployment rate decreased less-than-expected in May, figures from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs showed Monday, RTT News reported. The jobless rate fell to 6.4% in May from 6.7% in the previous month. Economists had expected the rate to drop to 6.3%. In the corresponding month last year, the unemployment rate was 7.5%. In May, job offices registered altogether 465,689 job seekers, which was 25,896 less than in the preceding month. Compared with the same month of the prior year, total job seekers declined by 84,284 persons. The number of newly registered job seekers decreased by 8,439 over the prior month to 38,919 in May.
