Collaboration for Better Growth

Initiatives undertaken by the Pacific Alliance to promote deeper economic integration in the Asia-Pacific region (Asean) enhances relations between the two regions said Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman. Malaysia welcomed the interest of the Pacific Alliance to engage with Asean, he said in a statement issued at the Asean-Pacific Alliance Meeting in New York Saturday, Bernama reported. He said with regard to such economic strength from the Pacific Alliance, both regions could explore potential cooperation in the areas of education, agriculture, tourism, financial and food security.  “As to kick-start the cooperation between Asean and Pacific Alliance, we would like to propose that a discussion be held first between the Asean Secretariat and Pacific Alliance to explore possible cooperation.
