Bahrain is set to benefit from future development projects worth $24.5 billion, TradeArabia quoted a report as saying. The coming period will focus on industrial, investment, tourism and entrepreneurship projects worth $17b to be implemented by government holding companies and the private sector, the office of Deputy King Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa said. Projects under the (P)GCC Development Program amount to $7.5b, covering health, education, infrastructure, housing and social services. Mega projects to be undertaken by the government sector include Alba’s sixth potline expansion, Hawar Island’s tourism and Al Fateh corniche development projects.
