Iraqi President Fuad Masum underlined the need to declare Basra the economic capital of Iraq, IraqiNews reported Tuesday. Masum said at a press conference in Basra that this town with its abundant oil and gas, “is an encouraging destination for investors to go to,” and urged to take action “in order to make Basra the economic capital of Iraq.”
