Russia Bans Polish Cheese

Russia’s consumer rights agency Rospotrebnadzor has banned the imports of cheese and cheese-like products from Poland, the regulator said in a statement on Monday, Tass reported. Rospotrebnadzor said it suspended the imports of these products starting from February 20 in order to protect the rights of Russian consumers. The regulator said the ban comes due to unfavorable test results of a cheese-like product manufactured by a Polish company Ostrowia. In early August, Russia introduced a one-year ban on imports of meat, fish, cheeses, milk and vegetables from western countries that had imposed economic sanctions against Russian citizens and companies.
