Taiwan Growth Forecast at 3.78%

The Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) on Monday raised its economic growth forecast for Taiwan in 2015 to 3.78%, CAN reported. The latest forecast is 0.28 points higher than the previous projection of 3.50% made in November 2014. Taiwan’s economic growth in the fourth quarter of 2014 was 3.35%, 0.18 points higher than originally estimated in January 2015, according to the DGBAS. Gordon Sun, director of TIER (Taiwan Institute of Economic Research) warned that there are still uncertainties in Taiwan’s trade and export outlook over 2015 because of weak demand in Europe and China.
