Indonesia posted a higher-than-expected trade surplus in January as global oil prices slumped, government data showed Monday, Bloomberg reported. Southeast Asia’s biggest economy saw exports slide 8.1% on-year to $13.30b and imports sank 15.59% to $12.59b. Indonesia’s economy expanded 5% last year, a sharp slowdown from the 5.8% growth recorded in 2013 and the weakest pace since 2009.
