Kish Free Zone Organization (KFZO) has taken part in the East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel (EMITT) Exhibition, in Turkey, in an effort to introduce the tourist attractions of the Persian Gulf Island.

About 1,100 representatives from 70 countries attended the exhibition, public relations and international affairs department of the Kish Free Zone Organization reported.

The 19th EMITT Expo kicked off on 22 January, at the Tuyap Fair Convention and Congress Center, in Istanbul, and ended on January 25.

Kish Free Zone Organization along with several companies involved in tourism activities on Kish Island, including Kish Air, participated in the international exhibition to showcase the cultural and tourism attractions as well as investment opportunities on the island.

The event was seen as a great opportunity for introducing attractions of the island and boost tourism by attracting investments.

An Iranian calligrapher was present at the KFZO stand, he wrote names of visitors in Persian.

Booklets and travel brochures introducing the island attractions were presented to the visitors.

Kish is a beautiful resort island in the Persian Gulf in southern Iran. Due to its free trade zone status it is touted as a consumer’s paradise, with numerous malls, shopping centers, tourist attractions, and resort hotels.

The island was ranked among the world’s 10 most beautiful islands by The New York Times in 2010.

It is seen as a haven for foreign tourists because entering the Kish Free Zone from legal ports is visa free. Valid travel permits are stamped for 14 days by Kish airport and police.
