The returned antiques of Khurvin will most probably be displayed in the National Museum of Iran next week, ISNA quoted director general of the museum Mahnaz Gorji as saying. Preparations for the exhibition are almost complete. The 349 artifacts, returned from Belgium on December 25, will be set out in three galleries, and the plan is to put them up for public viewing next week, Gorji said. After the artifacts were unsealed, 20 items had to undergo urgent restoration. All belonging to a single collection, the artifacts are of aesthetic significance, she added. The examination of the collection started on December 27. Having been inspected, the collection was passed to the trustee of the National Museum. The artifacts were compared with the main list, and registered in the museum. Following the National Museums exhibition, the artifacts will be transferred to Alborz Province, where a museum has been specially prepared for their public display, the heritage deputy of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Mohammad Hassan Talebian said.
