W. Azarbaijan Amusement Park to Open Soon

A modern amusement park in Chichest village in Orumiyeh, West Azarbaijan, will soon come into operation to add to the province’s tourist attractions. The project had faced a delay due to complex clearance procedure of the mechanical devices through Jolfa and Bazargan customs in the province, according to Adel Fattahi, chairman of Orumiyeh City Council’s commission for construction, planning and urban transportation. “It is now awaiting a license from the Institute of Standards and Industrial Research and will be officially launched in late August,” the official said. Stretching over16 hectares of area, the park is located in the vicinity of the world-known Urmia Lake. “Carnival rides of different kinds have been purchased and partly installed in the park with a total cost of 180 billion rials ($4.1 million),” Fattahi was quoted as saying by ISNA. Chichest has been selected as the location so that the park can be expanded over a vast area and can benefit from the beauties of the adjacent Urmia Lake to attract more visitors, Fattahi explained.
