Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport has scored the highest ratings in the Airports Council International's first-ever Airport Service Quality survey for arrivals.

In the survey conducted for arriving passengers during the period of April to June 2018, Bengaluru airport garnered 4.67 points out of five in the quarterly ACI-ASQ Arrival Survey, the News Minute reported.

The Kempegowda International Airport—operated by Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL)—was the only Indian airport to participate in the survey, and topped the list. Abu Dhabi International Airport was second with 4.53 points and Toronto Pearson International Airport was third with 4.44 points.

In addition to its existing departure surveys for 358 international airports worldwide, ACI for the first time introduced an exclusive survey for arriving passengers. The ASQ Arrivals Survey measures passengers' views on five key areas that include: disembarkation, immigration (only for international passengers), baggage reclaim, customs and airport infrastructure.

  Reward for Commitment

"This is a reward for the extraordinary effort and commitment of the entire airport community that drives the success of Bengaluru Airport. We thank our passengers and partners alike for their continued support and confidence in us," said Hari Marar, MD and CEO of BIAL. "We will continue with our commitment to improve our service quality and amenities to remain at the top of the survey for the next three quarters and ensure that we are rated the Best Airport of the Year," he added.

"We thank our passengers and partners alike for their continued support and confidence in us," he said.

Bengaluru's Kempegowda airport is currently the busiest airport in South India and the third largest in the country.

In March, the airport had won an award for being the best in India and Central Asia under the regional category.
