Plans need to be drawn up to tap into the tourism potential of Damavand and Firuzkuh in Tehran Province, the tourism chief and the lawmaker representing the two cities agreed in a meeting on Wednesday. "Because of their proximity to the capital Tehran and their abundance of natural, historical and tourism attractions, the two towns are able to attract large numbers of tourists," head of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Ali Asghar Mounesan, said. Mounesan added his organization will soon launch feasibility studies for the establishment of tourism complexes in Damavand and Firuzkuh, CHTN reported. Parliamentarian Qasem Mirzaei welcomed Mounesan's announcement, saying, "Constructing such tourism complexes as well as ecolodges would trigger a tourism boom in the cities."
