The Republic of Azerbaijan will grant airport visas to the citizens of a number of countries through the ASAN Service starting on May 15. Citizens of Iran, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Japan, Indonesia, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates are among eligible visitors who will be granted ASAN Visa at Azerbaijani airports. ASAN service is a state agency for government services to citizens of Azerbaijan whose goal is to make services more easily accessible to citizens using modern technology. The acronym stands for Azerbaijan Service and Assessment Network. "So far, about 420,000 foreigners have been granted an electronic visa through the ASAN Visa system," Ulvi Mehdiyev, chairman of ASAN Service, told the Azeri Press Agency. "Since January 2017, ASAN Visa system grants e-visas to foreigners within three hours for $20," he added.
