Iran Civil Aviation Organization will not impose fixed prices for air tickets but will prevent any jump in prices through arrangements with airlines, said a senior official with the regulator. "Following the enactment of the Fifth Five-Year Development Plan (2010-2015), air tickets are offered in a floating price system but mechanisms have been envisioned to prevent unrestrained price hikes in peak travel seasons," Donya-e Safar quote Reza Jafarzadeh, CVO's spokesperson, as saying. Besides, the prices are only determined by airlines and published in their official website. "Any overcharge by ticket sellers is an offence and is subject to prosecution," Jafarzadeh emphasized. Inspections by CVO and airlines are among the measures to control the prices.
