Tehran will host the Second National Tourism Festival in September. The festival includes competitions in four areas: photography, 60-second films, diary writing and new ideas on tourism. This year’s theme is “Empathy and Compassion”, IRNA reported, quoting tourism deputy of Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization, Morteza Rahmani Movahed, as saying. Those interested have until August 22 to submit their works at www.irantourismfestival.com. Renowned experts and professionals form the jury that reviews the submitted works. Winners of the festival will be announced on September 27, which coincides with World Tourism Day.
“Tourism needs new ideas. All over the world, creative ideas have boosted tourism,” he said. Movahed noted that the festival provides a platform for the public to interact and share innovative ideas with the industry’s professionals and decision-makers. Asked why there are fewer competitions in this year’s festival, Movahed said the organizers have focused on popular competitions, adding that it is better to provide fewer but high quality contests.
