Iran’s Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization has launched a virtual tour service, which visitors must pay to tour Iran’s cultural heritage sites, IRNA quoted head of the organization’s information and communications technology department, Alireza Tarahomi Harandi, as saying. The service, available on the organization’s website (, is a step toward developing the tourism industry. It offers panoramic views of historical sites. During the virtual tour, users are provided with information about every feature visible on the screen. The website is compatible with smartphones and tablets, and slow Internet connections will not hinder the experience. The tour is currently available in Persian only, but there are plans to launch an English version soon, according to Tarahomi.
