With proper planning, Iran’s rich culture can be used to help develop the tourism industry, said the advisor to the culture minister, Mohammad Ali Aminian. Speaking at the Annual Conference of Binaloud Higher Education Institute in Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Province, Aminian said that expanding the industry is contingent on proper attention given to Iran’s cultural and historical identity; an identity backed by thousands of years of Persian-Islamic culture and civilization. He said the conference is a “fantastic event” to promote tourism and called for the collaboration of organizations to continue holding the event annually. Sixty papers and essays in fields such as urban development, architecture, and tourism were presented at the conference.
